Introduction:
One of the most discussed topics in Platonic history is Plato’s Theory of Forms. This theory implies that abstract forms or, as common people call it, ideas, and not materialistic things, contain the highest amount of reality within them. In Platonic dialogues, these ideas are spoken through some character, mostly his teacher, Socrates, and they inform that the Forms are the only subjects of study which can give human beings indisputable knowledge.
Amongst all the important philosophers who thought about education, Plato was probably the most important. He visualized education to be the key to create and sustain his dialogue, the Republic. He was also known to advocate extreme measures such as raising a kid away from the mother’s care and raising them as wards of the state.
